Hearts to Hands CLT • Effective date: May 18, 2026
By using our website, volunteer portal, or fundraising platforms, or by providing your phone number to receive SMS messages, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About Hearts to Hands CLT

Hearts to Hands CLT is a nonprofit organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina, dedicated to mobilizing volunteers and community resources to serve those in need throughout the Charlotte region. We operate the following platforms:

  • Volunteer Portal — an online platform at heartstohandsclt.org/volunteer/ where community members can register as volunteers, sign up for service events, track volunteer hours, and manage their participation.
  • Fundraiser Platform — an online fundraising platform at heartstohandsclt.org/fundraiser/ where supporters can purchase raffle tickets and participate in fundraising events to support our mission.

2. Use of Our Platforms

You agree to use our platforms only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at info@heartstohandsclt.org.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, are being used in a manner inconsistent with our mission or harmful to our community.

3. SMS Messaging Program

Hearts to Hands CLT operates two SMS messaging programs. By providing your phone number through our platforms, you consent to receive the messages described below:

Program 1 — Volunteer Portal SMS

  • Program name: Hearts to Hands CLT Volunteer Portal
  • Description: Transactional SMS messages sent to registered volunteers, including one-time passcodes (OTP) for account login verification, shift signup confirmations, and event reminders.
  • Message frequency: Messages are sent only in response to your actions — logging in, signing up for a shift, or requesting account notifications. Typically 1–3 messages per interaction.
  • Sender: Hearts to Hands CLT via a dedicated 10-digit US phone number.
  • Opt-in: You consent to receive these messages by registering as a volunteer at heartstohandsclt.org/volunteer/ and providing your mobile phone number.

Program 2 — Fundraiser SMS

  • Program name: Hearts to Hands CLT Raffle & Fundraiser
  • Description: Transactional SMS messages sent to raffle ticket purchasers, including purchase confirmations, ticket assignment confirmations, and links to manage prize selections.
  • Message frequency: Messages are sent only in response to your actions — purchasing tickets or updating prize assignments. Typically 1–2 messages per transaction.
  • Sender: Hearts to Hands CLT via a dedicated 10-digit US phone number.
  • Opt-in: You consent to receive these messages by purchasing raffle tickets at heartstohandsclt.org/fundraiser/ and providing your mobile phone number.

Message & data rates may apply. Standard message and data rates charged by your mobile carrier apply to all SMS messages sent or received. Hearts to Hands CLT does not charge any additional fees for SMS messages. Contact your mobile carrier for details about your plan's messaging rates.

4. SMS Opt-Out & Help Instructions

You may opt out of SMS messages from Hearts to Hands CLT at any time using the following keywords:

  • STOP — Reply STOP to any message from us to immediately unsubscribe from all Hearts to Hands CLT SMS messages. You will receive one final confirmation message and will not receive further SMS from us. Note that opting out will disable SMS-based two-factor authentication and transactional confirmations for your account. You can re-enroll at any time by texting START to the same number.
  • HELP — Reply HELP to any message from us to receive a response with support contact information and a link to these Terms & Conditions.

You may also opt out by contacting us directly at info@heartstohandsclt.org or by updating your notification preferences in your volunteer portal account under Security settings.

6. Raffle & Fundraising Terms

Raffle ticket purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Ticket assignments to prize boxes may be updated any time before the event closes using the link provided in your confirmation email. Winners are drawn at the event and results are final. Hearts to Hands CLT reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any fundraising event; in such cases, affected ticket holders will be notified and eligible for a full refund.

By purchasing a raffle ticket you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and are legally permitted to participate in charitable raffles in your jurisdiction. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. Hearts to Hands CLT does not store your payment card information.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on our platforms — including text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Hearts to Hands CLT or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our platforms are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Hearts to Hands CLT does not warrant that the platforms will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of our platforms is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hearts to Hands CLT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use our platforms, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes we will notify registered volunteers by email. Continued use of our platforms after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Privacy Policy

Your use of our platforms is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
